102\\ 2016 FAVES | jo

Hey everyone, here's my first favourites(/video that I'm actually talking) from 2016. I know, it's already end of Feb, and I'm only posting this now, talk bout productive *roll eyes* Duh.

I made a video in Cantonese version this time, because I think I should do it in a language that I'm most comfortable and confident with. However, I still stuttered a lot, can't imagine if I'm doing it in English. There'll probably be more um.. ahhhh... uh... Lol.

And even in Cantonese, there's so many times that my mind goes blank because I can't seem to find the right word. Hahah. Ugh!I'm so bad at this. But yeah, practice makes perfect. Still, hope you liked it. Even, if you don't... I totally understand that, but still thanks for the view *wink*

About the process:
I think I've spent days (almost a week tbh)to edit this whole thing, and then I stopped for awhile till I continue working with the subtitles. I could have just share it without subtitles, but not sure if it's my first favorites, I tend to talk a lot, so it became quite long winded. So I decided to edit it into 1.5 speed to make it shorter and faster, but that also takes around 12 mins to end this video. Ugh. And because not everyone can understand Cantonese, I decided to add on subtitles as well, but only Chinese (for this time). Because I procrastinate too much, this whole video editing+ adding subs took me 2 weeks. *cover face and run*

And seriously speaking here, I have so much respects for Youtubers and video editors. I almost puke looking at my own face over and over again while editing it. This is so different from my previous experience making shitty travel vlog. I did it once....... And I don't think I wanna do it anymore. So yeah, this may be my first and last. HAHAHAHA. Ok la, just kidding. Depends lo, if I have anything nice or fun to share then I'll do another one. But definitely not so soon la. I need a brief hiatus. Lolol. Meanwhile, I'll try to add English subs. I'll try. So you please try to watch? *puppy eyes* Gazillion thanks!!

Click CC for subtitles (only in Chinese tho.)

42\\ Coffee Amo

So you see, cafe-hopping is the in thing right now, and being the typical Malaysian, I'm into it too. I can't recall when this whole coffee fever thingy started, but one thing for sure, it's here to stay. I wasn't, and honestly still isn't a coffee addict, but I just love the idea of visiting new cafes every week, and for the desserts of course.

Shan introduced this place to me somewhere around December last year, telling me the cute coffee art thing. I think that it's cute, but wasn't really impressed by it, cause you know, being really coolheaded me thinking you're gonna dunk it anyway. So why! But hey, it's so instagrammable. wtflol. Then I decided to pop in to the cafe when I was around there with the boyfriend few months back (then it took me long enough to make a proper review of it until today). Drew find it really weird thinking why would I spend so much for a coffee as he knows that I have never liked coffee before. Then quite unashamedly, I told him it's not for the coffee, it's for the photos. Snap! (WIN + Kiasu) And then to be honest, I think the reason why I didn't like coffee was due to the instant coffees. It's just a pack of sugar with the scent of coffee. Coffee smells good, but instant coffee... NO! (okay, don't even bother to do coffee adverts anymore. No, just kidding. Prove me wrong about instant coffee! Then I'll change my mind and praise you like mad(provided you must be really good la ok?), okie?!)

It's located in China Town, on the first floor next to Nam Heong Chicken Rice Resaurant. Coffee Amo shares half the shop with the Petaling Street Art House.

Unlike the other cafes, this cafe is so rustic, but I fell in love with it instantly. (and then capturing the angmoh into the photo to look extra good) I particularly love their doodles on the wall (said so, but no photos of it. major fail), nothing too fancy but simple outlines of some drawing. You might think that it's of kindergarten level, but you can't say that it's bad. :)

cafe latte (rm10)
Oh look! It's a 3D coffee art! This was taken on my first visit on January this year. This cute little bear/wolf/cat totally made my day. Snapped a few photos of it and then start drinking it, started to scoop it from it's left leg........ and then it has became a thriller movie

my usual cup of cafe mocha (rm12) and peanut butter dark choco cake (rm10)

Shan's cup of Ah Shin, lol, and Amo waffle and ice cream (rm10)

Lost count on the time I visited then. But this was just another day of me and Shan hanging out together. And Shan found this coffee art of her favourite lead singer from Mayday, so she requested to do the same thing. And kind barista is kind, but try not to trouble them on their peak period, for a better service ;)

I hopped in again on one fine Sunday afternoon. The place was so crowded, due to some treasure hunting or whatever event organized by the school nearby, and a lot of people dropped by for a cup of coffee. As it's time consuming, bad luck Jo didn't get the 3D coffee art and was disappointed. *insert sad face* But no blaming tho. It's for the better service *whip tears*

Shan's green tea latte (rm11)

cafe mathca latte (rm12)
Looking at Shan's green tea latte made me laugh. Saw that zao tut pig? It was supposed to be a bear, then the pointy nose kinda failed, so he drew a pig on it. Well, at least he's creative. ;P

Tips to getting good photos, get a seat by the window. The lighting is super good :) Presenting you rare photo of Shan and I, zero edit.

Rose Garden coffee (rm13)
This was my last visit with the Toks last month. I decided to order something different instead of the usual coffees, so I picked this from their signature coffee. It came to my surprise that it wasn't rose, but fagrant with strawberry, and it wasn't bad at all. Will definitely try out their Ocean 11 next time.

35\\ fab feb fav

a.k.a fabulous February favorite

Finally get rid of all assignments shit, and here's some time to do the procrastination right. However, this procrastination won't last long, as exam is just two months ahead. And the worse thing? It's occurring two days right after my birthday. Why you! But, no. Ain't no body got time for that. Are you a k-drama fans? If yes, have you watched My Love From Another Star? I'm in love with Jeon Ji Hyun all over again. How could she be this gorgeous? Her outfits and make ups, goddess! *big heart!*

Anyway, here's a beauty post of things I love using recently. I suck at beauty stuff, but still decided to occupy your time with these lil details. :) From upper left to bottom right, here goes:

Papulex Moussant, Soap Free Cleansing Gel: Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by Papulex. It took me a couple of days for my skin to settle into using the product and have had far fewer breakouts since using it. The change isn't 100% but I've seen a big improvement and loving it. Comparing it to Cetaphil which also indicates 'soap-free cleanser', Cetaphil is more suitable for sensitive skin which I think it didn't help much for acne prone skin. And I quite like the smell too. I recommend this!

ps: I'm also using their oil free cream, not bad but not too great. I don't really like the scent tho.

touch in SOL, No Poreblem Primer: This is the first primer I use. Not sure if it's really good or all primer works the same. Haha. It smells nice and the pros is that it comes with a pump, which is more hygiene. For this, you only need a little amount to apply on the skin, soft and smooth. I usually apply it before BB cream.

我的美丽日记, White Truffle Fantastic Whitening Mask: My favorite mask of all time. Too much to love, guess I need to do a specific post on this next time. Lol.

Deoproce, Hand & Body lotion (Grape Fruit): I'm not a lotion person but for this I will. I love the fruity smell in it (tho in my opinion it smells more like peach than grape fruit), it makes me feel bubbly all of sudden. Haha. And it comes in super handy size where I could bring it along to everywhere. Applies it anywhere anytime, while driving, during class, in office, while watching dramas!!!

Herbaline, Aloe Vera Gel: I began to visit Herbaline few months back, and loving their service and ambiance (Seapark outlet). Will definitely share my experience with them when I have the chance. Then I also gave a try on some of their products. I am currently using three products, and all are good. Especially the aloe vera gel mention here. The scent is fresh and this definitely plays a big role on healing my acne scars. Gotta purchase a new bottle soon.

Majolica Majorca, Lash King (BK999): I have had many experiences of mascaras that indicates 'water proof' yet easily smudge, but no more after I met the 'King'. And yes, it definitely deserves the title. The best thing? It's not hard to remove, at all. Hooray, lazy people!

Etude House,CC Cream (#01 Silky): It works like BB cream, but it doesn't works great on concealing, but thin enough to achieve a natural and nude make up. And it also gives a glowy and healthy complexion, unlike BB cream that gives really pale look. One major reason to love CC cream is that it will treat uneven skin tones. If you have acne prone or scar like me, buy CC cream! Sometimes, for a more complete look, I will set both BB & CC cream on (blend 'em).

Alright! That's all for this month's favorite. I hope you like it and tell me what do you think about it. Like maybe you have had different experience with the products I mentioned? Let me know. ;)

34\\ blooming tulip

我的美丽日记: Blooming Of Beauty Vienna Black Tulip Mask

Function: Firming, smoothening

Suitable Skin Type: All skin types

Jo: The texture of the mask sheet is soft and thin. It sticks to my face well and it is much more absorbent. The serum itself is not too watery. The scent of it is moderate. The mask doesn't smell like the flower namesakes in my opinion but have a pretty fresh, clean scent. So if you're worried about a cloying floral scent, no worries you won't get that. I don't feel much of the firming but my face felt really smooth (excluding those acne scars). The mask remained moist for the next hour, impressive. Worth you trying yaw :)
